Ann Vogue
Ann was a typical Yorkshire girl of her age – the mid-late 1950s – who loved horse-riding and outdoor games. She was flirtatious, vivacious and curvaceous, with loooong legs. She was a regular in pantomimes but wanted to make the break into musicals. Which may explain why she moved south to Romford in Essex.
The legs were a big advantage, as were the sparkling blue eyes. Like many hopefuls starting down that path, Ann got her face known through modelling – nothing sleazy, just early ToCo sort of stuff.
It’s a great shame we didn’t see more of her – especially because she did at least two shoots wearing a black girdle, with her knickers on top – frustratingly with a shirt that hid most of the glories from our bulging eyes. That is how things were in those days, and all the retro sites today featuring girdles get it wrong – they get the girl to put the knickers on first and then the girdle. Some would wish to see the return of capital punishment for such a heinous crime.
