Anne Scott
Anne was a dark-haired beauty from Ayrshire in Scotland. One of our readers claims to have gone to school with her – Crookston Castle Secondary School in the Pollock district of Glasgow. (Wonder if he checked out the bike sheds with her.) Don’t bother trying to find it – that reader says it was demolished. But a new one was built on the same site that is on a 2014 Google map – Crookston Castle Primary School. Many thanks for the info!
Anne was a professional photographic model and did some TV advertising and film work, as well as being a beauty contest winner and starlet in a TV quiz. There is an Anne Scott on the net who has a very respectable list of credits in big films with major stars like Trevor Howard and the Carry On crew – Sons and Lovers, Bulldog Breed, Jungle Street, Why Bother to Knock, Terror of the Tongs, Follow that Camel and Carry on up the Khyber.
She was a regular feature in ToCo magazines of the mid ‘60s to ‘70s, often seen sporting directoire knickers, and did several sets with fellow Scot Ruth Cavendish − and a very attractive pair they made. Indeed, Anne was one of the most published of all of the Bearsden girls. She also appeared in most of the other glamour mags available on the High Street in that era.
Anne was another girl who appeared to take her work very seriously but enjoyed it enormously – you can almost hear her giggles bubbling from the page.
