Barbara Boon
A pretty blonde with what we were once allowed to call wolf-whistle appeal. The very antithesis of Vogue front page on the one hand and Sun PageThree on the other, ToCo books were born with her in mind. She was that ubiquitous doe-eyed, leggy sweetie from Number 74 Acacia Drive of just about any town in the UK.
Confined to an office from Monday to Friday, she got her fresh air at the local riding school on the other two days, with a passion for horses since she was a youngster. The sun and breeze from sitting on the first floor of a gee-gee may well account for her gee-whizz complexion, almost glowing with health. But she was also an otherwise normal English girl with the same interests of the young of that era in pop music, tennis and sports cars. At school she was a marvel at maths and had a flair for figures. Then she discovered boys and found they had a flair for figures too. And after she got a job in the accounts department, it was not long before she married one.
