Cherie Scott
A very attractive and petite fair-haired Scottish model, yet again from Ayrshire, who photographed very well. Cherie (sometimes seen as Cherry) was a professional secretary and amateur model, who won several beauty competitions, and was featured regularly in all ToCo titles.
She was said to have taken a degree in music and loved skating (she was photographed wearing skates – but in the drawing room?), swimming and judo.
She did solo work but was often featured in a duo with Jane Rennie (who wears, in one set, the mind-boggling combination of striped shorts with stockings and suspenders, whilst Cherie is blindfolded. I like it) and in a trio with Jane Rennie and Anne Grainger outdoors with a skipping rope. She was also one of the girls who made photographer Fullarton’s grotty kitchen so famous. All of the above signifies she is a true Bearsden girl.
Cherie was a very popular adornment to the pages of Spick and Span in the mid to late 1960s, and it would be a rare edition that didn't have her somewhere within its pages.
The blurb said she loved cooking and specialised in soufflés. Sounds a little too light and fluffy to be true – but she certainly looked good enough to eat in her stockings and suspenders.
