Cherry was a pretty university student from Edinburgh, with dimples and gorgeous thighs, just perfect for stockings.
There can be little doubt that she was one of Fullarton’s Bearsden girls – the usual locations (same kitchen and roundhouse) and props (stepladders and pushchairs) that stamp the identity of the photographer; plus four sets of photos with her wearing DKs.
Yet again, the accompanying captions are all ridiculous stories that add nothing to the storyline of the photo sets – and tell us frustratingly little about the lovely Cherry herself. Apart from the fact that she was at university in her debut appearance in May 1965 (making her about 18 at the time), which means she would have gone up in October 64 and graduated in the summer of 1967 – so it is stretching it a bit to say in Spick & Span Extra 39 that she was “not long out of university, having graduated with honours” two years before the shoot.
Unlike many of the ToCo girls, Cherry had only two 2 hairstyles − down and free, or bouffant up. And she had a different and less adventurous style than Anne Scott, for example. There are no photos even hinting at topless or her showing willing to follow the Fullarton liking for a pair of knickers rolled halfway down the bum.
Why Cherry only made 19 appearances in her eight years in ToCo mags and Anne Scott 74 is something of a mystery.
