Jane Paul - Looking Right At You

Something to cheer everyone up a little on a wet Wednesday afternoon. Another Tocofan treat, Jane Paul perched on what looks to be a kitchen worktop, taken from a contact sheet. It was interesting to see the comments that yesterday's Nicola Taylor picture provoked, and I am going to say it again that Jane Paul would definitely not be in my top ten of ToCo girls. However, I know that there are some real fans of Jane out there who would disagree with me. So, without stating the obvious, what is so special about her? She doesn’t really smile enough for me.

Jane Paul

Great picture of Jane Paul looking like she has spotted something in the distance that might interrupt the photo session. I'm not sure if this picture was ever published in a magazine, but please let us all know if you have any information contradicting that. Many thanks to Tocofan for contributing this picture.

One Of Those Yesterdays

The simplicity and brevity of feminine fashion today is absolutely remarkable. There's hardly anything to any of it.

And yet it seems only yesterday when those flared, full-skirted dresses and frilly petticoats were so much the rage that nobody ever thought girls would wear anything else at all.

They couldn't have, not without looking overloaded.

No, anything different, we mean.

To give you a look at the trendy frills of yesterday. We had JANE PAUL hire an outfit and wear it with a maxi-coat. How about that, then?

Quite a number of you won't have seen anything like it. Some of you might not even believe it. But it's true. It was only yesterday—or so it seems—when all the girls went about looking like this. They were all frills and stocking-tops.

You prefer the simplicity and brevity of today?

Good on yer, then, and the best of luck.

Nice To Home To

Married men will know how nice it is to come home to a cosy house and a chicken dinner and all that heartwarming dessert. One day some fortunate guy is going to come home to JANE PAUL, and for the first ten years he won’t care if he’s got chicken or a Danish open sandwich for dinner. He’ll just settle for the heart-warming dessert.

Personal Appearances

Nothing counts for more in the life of a film star than the rapturous acclaim of a bedazzled crowd, overflowing their own feet as each man and each woman shoves and pushes to get a glimpse of You-Know-Who. What we like is more a personal appearance, really, such as JANE PAUL always catches the eye with. Well-groomed, well-brushed, no stocking wrinkles, everything neat and clean and tidy and fab. Super-duper entrancing Miss Paul.

The Midi for Jane

Things haven't been going quite as exhilaratingly for JANE PAUL as she’d have liked over the last few years.

The fact is, Jane is a soccer fan and a supporter of Glasgow Rangers. And the way that other Glasgow team, Celtic, has been taking all the honours that were once almost exclusively marked up to Rangers has rendered life quite intolerable for Jane. It's made all the more fanatical Rangers supporters feel that life has been hardly worth living.

However.

There are always the compensatory factors associated with fashion to take a girl’s mind off the tribulations of soccer fans. And Jane, a Glasgow secretary, is mad about clothes. She’s bought herself a midi. And she’s gone off tights and gone back to stockings.

Tights are a must with a mini. They're not with a midi.

That's going to please an awful lot of men.

"Watch it," said Jane, "the men in Scotland aren't as awful as that."

Jane’s In Fine Form

Glasgow secretary JANE PAUL has always been our idea of a girl in form, and latterly she’s been just beautiful.

With vitalistics of 38-22-36, she’s a natural for stunning the eye of every man lucky enough to get her in focus. Some men get so eye-smitten they start falling about or lurching sideways. We men are so impressionable, you know, that sometimes we think corking charmers like Jane are unfair to us. Either they shouldn’t be so corking or they should dress in tents. We mean wear tents.

Even then, think how lovely Jane in a tent would be like on a camping site in Pogo-Pogo, wherever that is.

A Little Nostalgia

This is just for those who sigh for the early sixties, when the mini hadn't yet made us realise that brevity is the soul of haute couture.

For the sake of a little nostalgia here is CATHY McEWAN modelling those old-fashioned fashions, petticoats and all.

She got them caught up in the door later. That made for more nostalgia. Oh well, anything for a laugh and a pretty picture.

Bon Voyage

If we haven’t put you in the picture before apropos the purpose currently in the mind of JANE PAUL, auburn-haired lass from Scotland, then let’s tell you now that Jane is set on making a two-year tour of the world. She’s a secretary and wants to work her way from capital to capital of all the most exciting countries that so far, she’s only seen in travel brochures.

Naturally, we wish her bon voyage but not without some regret, for two years is a long time and we’re among the many people who’ll miss having her around. You can’t just raise your hat in farewell to a lass as curvy as Jane and think no more about her.

Highland Games

Up in places like Braemer they have all those Highland Games each year, and lovely Scottish girls like JANE PAUL are seen around. They make a svelte contrast with all the muscle men. The latter may be able to toss a mighty caber, but Jane can throw a husky six-footer with a mere twinkle of her kneecaps.

"Lassie, would ye no, mind standing farther back?" panted one brawny caber competitor.

"Must I?" said Jane.

"Aye, ye must, lassie, or I'll lose my dynamics and do masel' an injury."

"Oh, dear, everyone's so tense," said Jane, and went away.

Well, you can't mess about with cabers. You've got to be tense.
