And When The Sun Came Out

Who should come out with it but JOAN RUSSELL.

She couldn't come out when it was raining because she wasn't dressed for it. Well, there was a fairy at the bottom of her garden in the Scottish Lowlands, you see, and this fairy was dressed in gossamer white with dainty wings. Joan wanted to get to know her better and the fairy, whose name was Louella, said she could only co-operate if she dressed as a fairy herself. Then they could flit around together and get quite chummy.

So as soon as the sun came out and conditions were right Joan danced into the light and flitted about and made fairy cooing noises. But there was no Louella. She'd forgotten. She'd gone off to have a cream and cheese tea with the fairy queen.

The trouble is that fairies today aren't as reliable as they used to be. They flit off just like that. Joan never did get to know Louella, though she'd set her heart on being fitted for a pair of wings. Life is full of disappointments.

Song of the Hot Stove

There's all this terrible talk about getting housewives out of the kitchen and sending them down the mines. It's going to be catastrophic if when you get home in the evening your gorgeous, better half is just on her way to the night shift. It means the hot stove is all yours.

While there's still time the hubby of Scots girl JOAN RUSSELL is making the most of her kitchen flair. And Joan doesn't really want to go down a mine, anyway. She likes her hot stove. She sings over it.

"And after all," she says, "if it's that hot you don't have to keep your overcoat on, you can just wear something cool and comfy."

How lovely.

Lucky Old Dino

Don't know what it is. Something from the astral world, we shouldn't wonder. Found its feet though. Got 'em nicely under the table at the home of JOAN RUSSELL of Ayrshire. Lucky old Dino. Name's all right but face is a bit funny.

Joan thinks it's cute.

Looks like a freak doing a freak-out to us. There's Joan with her lovely legs that have won prizes for their shape, and there's Dino, and if Dino doesn't look the oddest shape beside Joan, we're not seeing as well as we used to.

Joan is our idea of what's magnetic about Scotland. Dino is our idea of what's lucky about an oddity that's got its feet nicely under Joan's kitchen table.

Good For You

Very good for you if you're in a bit of a mood and feeling depressed on account of getting nowhere with that ravishing piece of homework in the drawing office, are pin-up pics of JOAN RUSSELL.

These are just right to lift your depression and make you feel there are other things to look at apart from a miserable future.

Ha Ha

To some girls the problem of getting out of a car is a matter for serious application If they don't wish to stop the traffic.

To JOAN RUSSELL it’s funny ha-ha because she says she gets tickled by the safety-belt on her way out.

Well, she's laughing about something.
