Rubber raincoat to keep off the rain and long bloomers to keep out the cold, and garters to stop her nylons falling down. Marvellous. Or is it?

SHIRLEY EPPS doesn’t need an awful lot of coaxing to come out, but she does need some tactful type to remind her that skirts, though short this season, are still being worn!
“I know that, stupid,” said Shirley, “and I’m not budging from here until mine turns up.” Shirley was, in fact, only hanging around the back door waiting for the dry cleaners to deliver the skirt.
At her New Year party she fell into the apple bucket.
Then the guy next door (who never misses a thing) popped his eyes over the fence. Shirley saw through that, however, and turned her back on him.
And when she finally get out it in a floral dress the skirt came shrunk.
Anyway, the floral frock was real springlike—and so, in the sunshine, was Shirley, as she gambolled over the grass.

Lovely Scottish lass with the cute dimples and the curvaceous outlook is MARION KYLE of Ayrshire. North of the Border it seems a fact that all the girls are not only curvaceous but traditionally bonny.
Marion is gay, bright and vivacious. She works in an office and this is her first appearance as a pin-up girl. Looking as cute as she does we hope that first is not also the last.
We couldn’t, in fact, pass those dimples by without wanting to see them again.
It was in Oslo, Norway, that INGA SVENSON was born.
She grew up to be one of those extremely shapely Scandinavian goddesses and all the Norwegian men who knew her, had high hopes of becoming her life partner, could hardly believe their rotten luck when she went off to England as an au pair girl.
Inga came to look at the country and to learn the language.
Well, when she'd had a good look and spoke the language excellently she decided to stay.
That was even worse luck for her Norwegian friends, but we're not grumbling. Inga is living in Hampshire at the moment and these are the very first pin-up photographs she’s posed for.

We found dark-eyed TESSA KING down on the farm. Hubby's farm, where she helps to keep the furrows straight and the animals well-fed.

Tessa stays as glamorous as she was when she was a bachelor girl, and there are no muscular bulges to the calves of her shapely legs. If, as a cynic, you want visible proof of this, here it is. How cute can a farmer’s wife get?
Having trouble with the high fence is JULIE SCOTT a typically bonny Scot, incidentally for she's got to get over it one way or another.
Ah, well, it’s simple enough for hikers in shorts and rucksacks, but not so simple in frilly skirts and a strong breeze. Nevertheless, you can see why Julie has won shapely leg competitions!
On which note, we’ll leave Julie in contemplation of the fact that in due course she’s got to climb back again. Pity we’ve got to depart in haste, but we forgot to stop the milk.
Glamorous indeed is Bristol housewife ELIZABETH GAMMAGE. Elizabeth is happily married and the mother of two beautiful children. And curvaceously photogenic.
Elizabeth's statistics are 38"- 24"- 35". Are there any other mums who photograph so glamorously ?
Wow! Caught in the rolling drums of a Berlin funfair—little Willi is keeping his feet, but sister Suzy isn’t so sure about hers! Ah, well, it’s all in the fun of the fair and Suzy is bound to be swept off her feet sometime in her sweet life-
Just right indeed is pretty PAMELA DAY, a perfect representative of the attractive modern miss of today. Figure just right, smile just right and fashion flair just right. It’s a sure indication that every modern girl has a film star’s potential, but fortunately for ninety-nine percent of us ordinary men most of them just settle for a happy home.
Making the most of her frills, Pamela makes a perfect picture on the step- ladder, and we’ll settle for Pamela being just that.

Outside the campus, where there was a satisfactory amount of rustic quiet and the student demo had packed up for tea, CHRISTINA BARTSCH celebrated her victorious exam results in swinging exhilaration.
With her maxi going all ways, much to the delight of a wandering minstrel who was looking for a place to unpack his sandwiches and his guitar, Christina was like feminine poetry in frilly motion.
The wandering minstrel stopped wandering. He sat down on a grassy hillock and played one of his own compositions, which sounded a bit like he'd pinched it from a gypsy cantata. Still, the rhythm was just right for our swinging student and it all looked like a lovely Can-Can in Arcadia.
Christina wants to be a research scientist.
You'd never think so to look at her. She's far too lovely to hide herself away in a land-locked laboratory.
Down on her farm in Sussex, TESSA KING is a great favourite - and not just because she’s kind to the animals. Tessa is a farmer's wife and just about as cute as they come.
It was a little too wet and muddy on this occasion to show you Tessa shepherding the gentle cows through the gate and across the road, but we're able at least to show you she's definitely one of the most photogenic farmers’ wives south of the Highlands.
Up in the morning early is Tessa, and if you thought a farmer's wife dressed herself in the rural equivalent of a boiler suit to face the day's chores, then here’s the exception which proves you shouldn't generalise.
This is the age of glamour - and the age that takes in farm favourites like Tessa. That side look out of the window was not made to project charm alone - a couple of hen turkeys had skipped away from the main throng (is throng of turkeys strictly correct?) to wing a lift on the tractor. Turkeys on tractors being taboo, Tessa was weighing up the necessity of rushing out to rescue them before they fell under the wheels. But not in this outfit !
In calling the attention of SANDRA McPHERSON to the fact that a picture wanted hanging, we did so with a loud whisper. One never shouts at a lady.
It's an accepted facet of pin-up modelling that the job of climbing a pair of steps to hang a picture is never accomplished with a straightforward precision. The picture is too heavy, the steps totter and so eventually does the model. With models as cute as Sandra, the inevitable consequence adds up to a pretty picture somewhat different from the one to be hung.
Bruised she may be, disturbed she certainly is, but Sandra nevertheless - like all similarly pretty pictures - covers the physical hurt and the emotional disturbance with a smile. And then tries again.
And having completed the job successfully she takes time off to listen to a soothing record or two. The introduction of a few cushions is to offset the susceptible tenderness of the bruises, which may not be real to you but are certainly very real to Sandra !
