Wendy Reynolds

Mustang By Request

Call in during the morning at Wendy Reynolds' house for a cup of coffee, and you'll most likely find she's too busy to stop and chat. Wendy works at home, so first thing in the morning it's away with the breakfast things and in with the typewriter. Pretty soon the kitchen table looks more like a desk.

She writes short stories - love stories, mostly. We asked where she got her inspiration from, and if she needed any help in getting ideas for her stories. She seemed to think, though, that we were getting ideas. Could we help it, we protested, with her looking so glamorous?

To show she wasn't really offended she took some time off writing and posed for our photographer. Writing romances all started, she told us, when she had a boyfriend editing a love story magazine. The love letters she wrote him were so romantic he fired all the other writers and used her ideas instead. It didn't last long, though. Pretty soon she was so busy writing stories for herself she hardly had time for boyfriends, let alone writing letters to them.

"Nothing like putting your feet up after a hard day's typing," she says. We took one look and couldn't help agreeing with her.

London Bunnies

In Edwardian days clubs used to be quiet havens where you could read your Times and forget all the complications attendant on your relationship with Edwardian women, who were always on about the necessity of getting you to church.

London club life has brightened up considerably since then. True, in many of them women are now accepted, which results in your complications always being with you, but you can’t have everything. In the Playboy Club of London all the femininity which so lights up the eyes of tired business tycoons is vested in the Bunnies, without whom life can never again be complete. Graceful, curvy, talented, intelligent, the Bunnies have reduced even further the number of men who think there’s nothing to compare with a good book.

Even old and reactionary baronets with club gout are beginning to think that a quiet two hours with the Times could be improved upon, but the first letter asking the editor to publish pin-ups has yet to appear.

Example of a graceful curvy, talented and intelligent Bunny is CATHERINE McDONALD DOLLY READ, and SHARON BYSOUTH

Marie Graham

Bournemouth Girl

So popular has MARIE GRAHAM become lately as one of our exclusive pin-up girls that she's right in the forefront of the glamour stakes, as it were.

Give us more of Marie. That's the heart- appealing cry we constantly hear. We can't help being utterly responsive because we're a bit far gone on Marie ourselves. She's just ever so delicious, like.

She's a Bournemouth girl, a secretary and a swinger.

She likes long boots, micro-minis and old- fashioned suspenders.

"Well, what was good enough for my Auntie Mayflower is good enough for me." she said.

What a funny name for an auntie. Mayflower. Why is she such a good example?

"She was in the Wrens," said Marie, "and looked lovely in her sailor hat."

Well, there must be a connotation somewhere.

Vicki Ashley

Coming Your Way

Coming Your Way, Cobbers

For some time now VICKI ASHLEY has been awaiting her emigration papers. She applied to go to Australia and by now should be on her way.

We thought we'd let you know, cobbers. There must be quite a few Down Under who don't want to miss her. These pictures of Vicki were taken in the autumn and we don't honestly think she'll have changed much by the time she lands in all that sunshine. There may be quite a few others who'll land with her, so just for the record she'll be the brown-eyed one measuring 37-23-36. But don't start checking up with your tape measure or big as you are you'll get socked.

Vicki was a manicurist before she became a model, so if any Aussie wants his nails trimmed and his cuticles looking nice, Vicki's your girl. Only bow from the waist down first as she likes all fellers to be gentlemen. Don't try throwing her over your horse and galloping off to the outback with her. She'll conk you silly with a collapsible hammer she carries.

Jenny Piper

Glamour In The Country

While we're on the subject of glamorous wives, here's one who lives in the country.

She's JENNY PIPER, a golden blonde.

Jenny had quite a career going when she was a bachelor girl. She gave it all up to settle down in a country cottage when she got married, and the fortunate feller who married her made a lovely speech all about how paradise had arrived.

Well, what with roses round the door and Jenny around the kitchen, you couldn't call it anything -else but paradise. It's the sort of thing that makes the cynics go off their own egos.

Jane Miller

Game for a Game

In a sort of slinky gym vest and black tights JANE MILLER went out for a gambol with her jump-ball.

Very sporty bird is Jane. Loves games and all that. Along came a walking-stick case, an old gent with gout. He took one look at Jane, a secretary in Kingston, Surrey, threw away his walking-stick and galloped gamely towards her.

Inevitably he fell flat on his face.

Jane picked him up, gave him back his stick and helped him into a wheelbarrow. As the gamekeeper wheeled him away she said farewell with a smile and a wave. It cheered him up no end.

Joyce Matlock

Time To Spare

Housewives don't have much time to spare, especially those who, like JOYCE MATLOCK, hold down an office job as well.

But if you're as efficient as Joyce, there's always time to spare, time to wander around the Worcestershire countryside and take in all the relaxing quiet of undisturbed rurality.

And time, too, to pose for her photographer, who's never too busy himself to miss capturing her image for posterity.

Joyce is twenty-four, loves dancing and thinks we could do away with national crises if we sent all the politicians on package tours.

On some package tours these days it's difficult to get back.

Susan Whiddon

Plymouth Is The Place

Plymouth is where SUSAN WHIDDON resides, so Plymouth is the place for any feller who wants to play the part of a devoted fan and pop flowers into her letterbox once a week.

Susan and her hubby came down from the North to live in Plymouth, and the place perked up no end when she arrived. It’s a fair and attractive city in any case. It's even better looking now.

Susan likes reading, dancing and sunning herself in her bikini. Her husband likes Susan. What a sound and sensible feller.

LuLu

Yoo-Hoo, Lulu

They ran the Derby at Epsom not so long ago and everyone got quite worked up. The runners went so fast that the only way of finding out how many were in the race was to count the legs and divide by four.

One of the Epsom visitors was international singing star LULU.

The cameramen caught her on the rail in her K.O. hot pants. Lulu just projected a lovely smile and they all said, "Good on you. Lulu, you're even more photogenic than the gee-gees."

"I bet you say that to all the girls," said Lulu.

Amanda Christian

Say Hello

Say a nice hello to a nice girl—AMANDA CHRISTIAN. Amanda is a honey blonde with big blue eyes and it doesn’t take her any time at all to make men goggle—she’s appeared in colour in BBC 2 documentaries. Ten seconds of Amanda in gorgeous colour and we’re all goggling. She's also a freelance showroom fashion model.

Deirdre Vascoe

Girl of The Future

If you want to keep in touch with the fascinating world of the future, take a look at future-minded DEIRDRE VASCOE.

Deirdre reckons she's just masterminded the simplistic everyday outfit of the future. There'll be no such things as cold temperatures and wet rain to worry about, and girls will just wear boots, futuristic tights and what you might call half a pair of knickers.

Anyone for Mars?

Jackie Ross

Trendy Traveller

It was a long way from Manchester to London when salesgirl JACKIE ROSS set out for the big city. Well, it's a long way from anywhere when you have to walk. Passing the railway station Jackie thought she'd do it the easy way, so she bought a ticket and caught a train.

She met an awfully nice feller on the train. He shared a packet of biscuits with her. But when he said that his wife didn't understand him Jackie knew there was only one thing to tell him.

"I'm not surprised," she said, "you're all over biscuits crumbs."

Jackie came to London to find work as a model. She hardly needed to look because enterprising photographers found her first. Naturally, who could miss such a beautiful brunette with a figure of 38-24-37

Christine Holmes

Yorkshire Beautician

In the town of Boroughbridge Yorkshire, CHRISTINE HOLMES works as a beautician in a store.

Well, some beauticians are kind of impeccably exquisite, so much so that they give you a feeling that you look a haphazard muck-up. Christine, however, is softly and charmingly exquisite and it's a pleasure to have her tell you how best to make your big ears look unnoticeable.

She's twenty-two, with vital statistics of 36-23-36, and is every Yorkshire man’s idea of paradise, if only he could get her to share a desert island with him.

Recently Christine has turned to photographic modelling in her spare time, and that's something we're fanatical about. Beauticians in glossy black-and-white.

Marie Graham

Not Just A Pretty Face

MARIE GRAHAM, is not just a pretty face. Some of you fellers couldn't care less if she had six degrees in the higher arts, because you all love a pretty face notwithstanding, like.

Even so, aren't you interested in the fact that Marie can do things to a car just as efficiently as you can?

Or are you more interested in just sitting back and watching her at work?

All right, don’t all shout at once.
