Not for Dorset girl ANDREA KAYE is the dubious value of wanting fame and fortune.
Happiness to Andrea is in the simple things. Her one ambition is to get married to a really nice guy, to become a wife and mother and to let everyone else worry about finding a goldmine.
Andrea enjoys walking, dancing and good books.
She’s vivacious, healthy and deliciously uninhibited. Anyone who needs a psychiatrist is bonkers, she thinks.
She could be right.
That was all the man from the gas company could say when he called on WANDA LIDDELL in her Camden Town flat. "Listen, gorgeous." Then he'd lose his voice because of breathing heavy, then he'd start again.
Wanda told him to stop larking about and to look at her cooker, and he thought, great hairpins, who wants to look at cookers anymore? He rang up his office, resigned and sent Wanda flowers. But it didn't make up for her cooker still being kaput.

A dispenser is someone who works for chemist or in a drugstore. Like CAROL BURDETTE of Enfield, Middlesex.
When Carol is working, she wears a white coat. When she's not working she wears the cutest hat, particularly if it's Ascot week. This week it's nearer New Year than Ascot.
Beautiful Britons No 122 - January 1966
You can have white elephants, old bus tickets, a blown tile off Admiralty House and even a feather off an Ascot hat. But you can only have your own face, you can’t have someone else's. If your eyes are bloodshot, you’re stuck with them, it’s no good wishing you had beautifully clear blue orbs like ANN WILLIAMS has. Ann is Ann and you are you, and Ann is a cute, pretty picture on all counts and you’re not.
If you’re prepared to face facts, there’s always a chance for you. Speaking of chances, when Ann can get her skirt unhooked and rush off to an audition it’s possible one more vocal star will hit the pop charts. Ann has been singing since she was two and is already making a name for herself. Look out for this lovely little lady. We’re certain you’ll hear more of her.
And what you’ll hear will sound as nice on your ear as Ann herself is easy on your eye. Her statistics are 35"-22"-36" and as you can see, she has legs shapely enough to win the title of Miss Trim- Limbs.
Soccer club managers who are dead worried about the lack of skills in their teams could do themselves a favour by watching the way NICOLA TAYLOR can manipulate a ball.
Supple, graceful and eye- catchingly gifted, Nicola is a wizard winger and can make an opposing 4-4-2 formation look like a lot of stranded bits and pieces.
But she's not for transfer, however. Her husband won't let her go. He likes to keep her gifts at home. They play in their garden every Saturday, and Nicola usually wins by 42-nil.
Not so long-ago JENNIFER JAY was a lovely bank clerk.
Now she's a lovely housewife. And what a lovely cook too. On baking days, the whole place is sort of warmly aromatic. but if you call to sell anything don't go into the kitchen or you'll get conked. Jennifer likes to keep her kitchen to herself and people who put their noses into the hot oven on baking days aren't welcome.
She's quite a dish herself with her measurements of 36-25-37.
Don’t be misled we're not inferring that ANNE FURNAESS is studying the glamorous art of modelling. Anne’s all set for a scholastic career. It just happens that she’s a spare-time model and a full-time student hence the heading.
Studying can be a hard grind. It helps to have a record player and a bowl of fruit to hand to lighten the burden of equations and logarithms.
Modelling, on the other hand, is pure fun.
All you need is a sense of humour, a sweet smile a series of nicely- distributed curves and a flair. Result, model student having fun and looking good.

Looking pretty frilly in her armchair is FRANCESCA YOUNG, a wow of a pin-up girl from Worcestershire. What’s more feminine than frills on Francesca?
You may prefer feathers on a falcon or plumes on an ostrich, but neither would look as cute as Franny in an armchair—or would they!
Anyway, bring us any ostrich with vitalistics of 37"-23"-37" and you may get us re-considering the matter. Meanwhile we’ll stick with Francesca, who’s never so dumb as to bury her head in the sand.

In her London flat, HEIDI SEPAN was waiting for a phone call from her home town in West Germany.
Well, tinkle tinkle went the phone and when Heidi picked it up it was the man from the dry cleaners. He was on about a coat that was all over coffee stains. Heidi didn’t know what he was talking about. She hadn’t left any coat at the dry cleaners and she hadn’t spilt coffee over anything in years. So, she threw him off the line and waited again.
At this particular time Heidi had been in London since last year. She’d been an au pair girl and a secretary and now she was waiting for her call from home.
Well, tinkle tinkle went the phone and when Heidi picked it up again, that talkative nut from the dry cleaners was there once more, begging her to come in and confer with him over the coffee stains.
It was most exasperating and when finally, Willi from home did get through all he could get out of Heidi was confused chatter about a dry-cleaning man who didn’t know what to do with a coffee-stained coat.
It left Willi feeling that Heidi was getting as eccentric as the English. Actually, Heidi is very sweet and not a bit eccentric.

No, it isn’t Monday night—it’s Friday and SUSAN ASHFORD has a date she simply must press on with.
Susan wasn’t quite sure on her last date if he appreciated her comments on his striped tie. She certainly didn’t appreciate what he said about her hair-do. So tonight, Susan is going to iron it out with him. Good luck.

Florence, jewel of Italy, means art In all its essence to artists and students. Although PENNY BAXTER of British-Swedish parentage is undyingly devoted to London she couldn't turn down the chance of going to Florence for a year. If she looks a little wistful here it was because she hated to leave her cosy London bed-sit, but don’t take it to heart, Ernest, for Penny knows it’s going to be fun finding Florence.
Penny is just twenty-one, has been an art student since her teens and harbours not so much a burning desire to paint like Rembrandt or Sutherland but to try her genius at interior decorating.
She knows, of course, where you can really make the money. And as she loves fast cars, she thinks a successful interior decorator has more chance of acquiring an E type than a painter has.
Anyway, she’ll find out in Florence whether she has the spark that will make her oblivious of things like money and cars, or whether she is indeed destined to make a career amid odd wallpapers and droll curtains and jazzy knick-knacks.
She thought it quite mad but quite fascinating that anyone should consider her to be a pin-up type. She thought pin-up types were those who looked as if they were about to topple slowly over.

That question has been asked before, but not, as far as we know, of Texas girl SHIRLEY SKATES, born of Irish-lndian stock.
How the name became Skates we don’t know. We don’t really care. Does anyone? It’s shapes not skates that move mountains.
Look at Helen of Troy. Launched all those ships without one bottle of champagne. Shirley isn’t interested in launching ships but she's pretty keen about launching Miss Skates. Shirley has appeared in cabaret at Las Vegas and hopes to develop from there, though figuratively speaking she’s pretty well developed already.
After all, inches of 37"-22"-37" can’t be completely ignored, can they? Shirley had these photographs taken at home, and you can see one of her hobbies is music. Her ideal man is Frank Sinatra. Next to Frankie she likes progressive jazz, sports clothes (what, all those enveloping woolies and ski pants?) and Chinese food.

Pin-up favourite RUTH CAVENDISH prefers a wooden horse.
She tried to ride a live one not long ago, down on a cattle farm. It was dead frisky. Ruth got all jerked about and finally fell off backwards.
Clonk.
She wouldn't have been as upset as she was if it hadn't given a horse laugh. She hasn't spoken to it since. She has settled for a quiet ride on Pinto, which is a rocking-horse she grew up with.
Pinto has nice manners.
Beautiful Britons No 203 - October 1972
Air hostess JULIE COLLINS has been as high up in the world as anyone else, excepting only the astronauts, and as far as ambition is concerned the only thing left that excites Julie’s imagination is being an astronaut herself. May we say she’s the girl we’d most like to go into orbit with? Or the girl we’d most like to go giddy with? Same thing.
As an air hostess Julie has been on the Britain - America run and has touched down in every part of the American continent when serving with an American airline. She has finally settled in London, which she prefers to any other - it’s currently the swingiest, it seems - and she wants to get her feet back on the ground for a while. She’s twenty-two and she’s gorgeous.
