Ingrid Norsman

Calling All Collies

If you're a nice big cuddly collie doggie, looking for a nice cosy cuddly home, why not get in touch with cosy cuddly INGRID NORSMAN?

If you're lost around the Cotswolds, Ingrid might be pleased to hear from you. Ingrid is an absolutely bewitching dog-lover. Honestly, some of you galumping great St. Bernards get better treatment from Ingrid than a mislaid pop star in need of his mother.

“What would you rather have for Easter, Ingrid? A famous pop star or a woolly collie?”

“Don't make me laugh, what would do with a pop star? You can take a woolly collie for a lovely ramble. You can't take a pop star anywhere except where the windows are all shut to keep the noise in.”

This is Ingrid.

Cuddly collies, please note.

Margaret Yeadon

Haircut, Sir?

If it looks like MARGARET YEADON is fond of the bottle, it's quite misleading. They were studio bottles. Margaret was just posing for the photographer and as he's a bottle man he thought what a background and a foreground, just the flaming ticket, darling.

Margaret is twenty-two, she lives in Leeds, and she has her own men's hairdressing salon. She likes looking after men's styles, and the styles being so way out these days, Margaret can exercise ingenuity, skill and inventiveness. Actually, a haircut isn't on. If you have one you're dead old-fashioned. You have it styled.

And when Margaret isn't styling heads of handsome masculine hair, she's lapping up the excitement at Hot Rod Car meetings.

Christiane Schmidtmer

Star Billing

Tops on the Continent is West German actress CHRISTIANS SCHMIDTMER, the girl who gets star billing on TV or the screen not just because she’s beautiful but also because she’s got talent

Add to talent those long and lovely legs and you must have a winner.

Christiane, in these shots posed exclusively for us, reveals just how beautiful she really does look around her home and just why the wolf whistles echo non-stop outside.

Jeanette Bonner

Domestic Glamour

Housewife from the Garden of Kent is JEANETTE BONNER and just about one of the nicest glamour girls we know.

These pretty pictures were taken by Jeanette's husband, Peter, an enthusiastic amateur photographer whose favourite pin-up model is, naturally, Jeanette herself.

You can take it from us that Jeanette is also a good cook. If you've got glamour in the lounge and efficiency in the kitchen you're sitting pretty.

We can't think of anything more conducive to marital bliss than a perfect apple pie served by perfectly pretty wife. You might perhaps consider you could go one better by having champagne in an iced bucket served by your missus in white leotard and black tights, but our money is on Jeanette and her apple pie.

We've featured domestic glamour on many occasions before because it has its own unique appeal, and because we're sold on apple pie ourselves and this particularly cute cook! - we hope to bring you more of Jeanette in and around her Kentish home. Pass the custard, Maud.

Lisa Scott

Lost and Found

Candidly, we're always losing things because we don't remember where we put them. Other people lose things because they're careless.

Canadian girl LISA SCOTT, married to a lovely Englishman her own description is neither forgetful nor careless. Well, not normally she isn't. But the other day she had an argument with a traffic warden, and it took the edge off her tidy mind. She couldn't think where she'd put her shopping list, her money, and her book of stamps.

She looked everywhere. She wasn't half cut up about her temporary mental aberration. Goodness, she thought, at twenty-one, is it a sign of old age? No, darling, just the upset condition traffic wardens get people into.

Anyway, all ended on a rapturous note. She found the missing items in the pocket of her car. Not wanting to lose them again, Lisa decided that the traditional lodging place favoured by so many women before stretch tights put paid to it, was her best bet against further loss. So, she tucked the items into the top of her stocking. How pretty.

Josephine Peters

Jo

Short and sweet is the diminutive which her friends use for JOSEPHINE PETERS, long-legged London model. "Hi, Jo," is what you hear in the discotheques and Jo flashes her big-eyed smile and then, if she doesn't know who's addressing her, she steps on his foot and passes by.

But you can't blame any bloke for wanting to get to know her.

Joanne Stewart

Oranges & Lemons

What makes a lovely girl more lovely?

What makes her more curvy as well?

Oranges and lemons, says JOANNE STEWART.

Joanne is a housewife who is also a dolly-bird of exceptional impact, this being due as much to her figure of 37-23-37 as her honey-gold hair.

What you do, she says, is this. You take one orange, peel it, dissect it, and eat it with a thin slice of dry toast. That's for breakfast, and you can have a weak cup of China tea as well, but no milk.

For lunch you have another orange, only with nuts. If you want to go mad you can finish off with a small glass of a tomato juice.

For dinner you can have two oranges, and if you must have something hot to go with them try half a haddock. For afters you can have two dates but no custard.

But the lemons, Joanne, you haven't mentioned them. Don't you have a lemon or two in between?

A lemon, says Joanne, is someone who believes all this. Honestly, some housewives with this sense of humour can't half make you feel a fool.

Joyce Flaws

Curvy Scot

All Scots girls are bonny, of course, and this makes them naturally curvy. Included among curvy Scots you mustn't miss when you're photographing natural beauties up in the Highlands is Secretary JOYCE FLAWS, nineteen years old with vitalistics of 37-24-37.

Beautiful Britons No 166 - September 1969

Susanne Ferrier

Dolly Bird From Scotland

They're with it in Scotland, you know. In their kilts they've been swinging since Bonnie Prince Charlie. London has only recently caught up.

Shorthand-typist SUSANNE FERRIER is as eye-catching a dolly bird as any in the King's Road. She lives in a Glasgow suburb and commutes daily to and from the city centre.

She's a keen swimmer and is naturally a swinger when it comes to dancing at the Glasgow discotheques.

She confesses she loves conversation. That's a bit different from so many who adore the goggle-box.

What a lovely evening you could spend chatting her up. Susanne's vitalistics are 36-22-37.

Seen around the home, Susanne makes just the kind of leggy picture that's getting lamentably scarcer. The fashion fanatics don't know what they're doing to us with their stretch tights.

Margaret Carmichael

A Book, A Bird and a Cosy Glow

By the fireside a winter's evening can be a lovely cosy glow. Scots’ girl MARGARET CARMICHAEL was all cosy glow as she relaxed on the rug with a good book. If there was only room for one more Harry McGurgle would be there with her, he's mad about good books and even madder about delicious birds and a cosy glow.

Margaret is a secretary, looks lovely taking dictation and entrancing tapping her typewriter. She measures 36-23-35. That may be nothing to do with typing, but it does indicate why she looks so good at it.

Maria Lynley

Don't Ring Off

The phone rang and MARIA LYNLEY answered it.

"Hello," she said, "who's that?"

"It's me," said Harry.

"Who's you?" said Maria.

"Harry," said Harry.

"Is it about the telly?" said Maria.

“I haven't got one," said Harry, "I keep chickens. Can you come out tonight?"

“I'll ask my husband," said Maria, a lovely young Leicester housewife.

"Oh sock me," said Harry, "isn't that Ethel?"

"No, it isn't," said Maria, "it's me."

"Who's you?" said Harry.

"Maria," said Maria, "goodbye, Harry."

"No, don't ring off," said Harry, "you don't half sound cracking."

"Saucebox," giggled Maria and put the phone down.

Nicola Taylor

Nicola

There are times when we like to be in the garden. And if we had a garden next to the garden of NICOLA TAYLOR we'd be absolute fanatics about flowers and vegetables.

Nicola has two hobbies. One is listening to pop records; the other is gardening. She looks dreamy when she's listening to the records and if we had to get lost on a desert island with a record-player we’d choose Nicola to play it for us.

But in the garden, when she's digging up weeds, Nicola looks the epitome of outdoor charm. Not everyone looks like that in a herbaceous border, especially the man next door to us. He looks like a digger of canals and you can’t even talk to him without getting an unwanted clod of earth in your eye.

We'll have to move.
