Julie Amos

New Model

Dreamy-eyed girl with the long legs is JULIE AMOS, new to the world of modelling.

Julie is a Yorkshire girl, resident at the moment in London.

Working in a London office, Julie earns sufficient as a shorthand-typist to keep herself comfortably fed and attractively clothed, and that's not all.

She also puts away enough each the pay-day to ensure she can cope with the expenses of a summer holiday on the Continent. On any part of the Continent incidentally, this soft eyed, dark haired Yorkshire lass really slays them.

Helen Candlish

Lovely in Lingerie

Actually, HELEN CANDLISH looks lovely in any kind of clothing. She's pretty cute even in a barrel or a roll of lino. In lingerie, of course, she's one hundred per cent feminine, and that, bub, counts more with us than any barrel.

If you're travelling through Ayrshire at all this summer, on your way to the Highlands, you might be lucky enough to spot Helen. Keep your glasses at the ready and let someone else do the driving.

Helen loves modelling, and there's nothing that quite beats a model who loves her work and who looks just the way Helen looks.

And when modelling the attractive briefness of the modern girl's lingerie, Helen looks lovely. Which is where we came in.

Maggie McCully

Maggie McCully – Back Office Beauty

Another great picture from Tocofan, I think taken from a contact sheet. Maggie McCully is standing on what must be, by now, that infamous back office ToCo table that has been seen so many times in their magazines. Maggie has a slightly odd expression, which is possibly why it was never selected to be published. However, she certainly has a fantastic pair of legs hidden under that very typical style of dress that she seemed to favour so much.

Mary Graham and Janette Goodman

Giddy-Hup!

Playing 'first-pass-the post-bags-a-lollipop' are vivacious brunette MARY GRAHAM and eye-catching blonde JANETTE GOODMAN. Anyway, it's a good substitute for press-ups and not so killing, even if it is hard on the knees of the gee-gee. And some gee-gee.

How'd you turn round in a corner? Janette's the worried one at this stage, but it's Mary who ought to have been.

Well, it was Mary, you see, who had farther to fall. This represents the final sequence of 'hands-knees-and-boompsa-daisy'. but no two girls could go 'boomps' with more photogenic emphasis than Janette and Mary, unless they weighed twice as much. In which case the emphasis would be physical-ouch!

Jane Paul

Jane Paul

Great picture of Jane Paul looking like she has spotted something in the distance that might interrupt the photo session. I'm not sure if this picture was ever published in a magazine, but please let us all know if you have any information contradicting that. Many thanks to Tocofan for contributing this picture.

Margo Hamilton

Black For A Blonde

Long Legged blonde, MARGO HAMILTON, is definitely of the opinion that nothing suits a fair-headed girl better than an ensemble in black, and from the way she looks in this outfit we're not disputing that opinion. If you can think of anything, better drop us a card.

You can't be seen at Ascot without an eye-catching hat, and what's more eye-catching than Margo's lampshade chapeau?

Margo is a dancer among other things, and you can bet that when those long legs of hers are encased in fishnet tights your girlfriend won't be too happy about the attention, you're giving this particular dancer. But, after all, you didn't go to the night spot to turn your back on the cabaret, did you?

Mickey Jines

Meet Mickey

May we introduce someone we think you'll find different from all those insurance agents who keep knocking at your door?

By all means. I've been having the grottiest time lately; everything has been a dead drag. To make it grottier I got jammed in a tube train yesterday and nearly left my right leg in the tunnel between Charing Cross and St. James' Park. So, as you can imagine, I'm all set for something beautiful to happen to me.

In that case, meet MICKEY JINES, the most fascinating shape of them all in a gingham dress. Hold on there's no need to roll about, all you need do is click your heels and raise your hat.

I can't help it if she floors me. What can I do to make her life beautiful and ecstatic?

Escort her round London. She wants to see the Houses of Parliament Piccadilly Circus and the Tower.

I'll take her by tube. With any luck we'll get jammed in together.

Maggie McCully

Remember

We thought we couldn't take our leave of old readers without bringing to their eyes a photograph of one of the most popular of all our models, MAGGIE McCULLY.
Maggie was an absolute winner all the way and American readers even mailed her bouquets.

Beautiful Britons No 252 - November 1976 (Final Issue)

Maggie McCully's appearance in the last issue of Beautiful Britons brings with it a bittersweet farewell to an era that some may argue had long expired. However, count me as one who disagrees. While we are well aware of the flaws that plagued the 1960s and 70s, one can't help but wonder if our present times are any better. No mobile phones, no internet, no Tinder - just three measly channels on the television. But amidst those limitations, there were tantalizing glimpses of stocking tops, enticing us with a desire for more. Oh, if only today held that same allure. Here's to Maggie and her ToCo comrades, a toast to the days gone by. So, come on, girls, let's reignite that enchantment and bring back the magic.

Wendy Goff

Glamour In The Air

We mean this literally.

There's nothing like the modern air hostess to bring comfort and glamour to air travel, and one of the most glamorous of them is WENDY GOFF. Activating our cover this month with dynamic colour.

Wendy, a former Miss England, is just the girl we'd most like to get lost in the clouds with.

Francesca Young

All Set

All set for a wet summer is FRANCESCA YOUNG in her shiny black rubber raincoat. We're not sure we like pessimism to go this far, but Franky got caught in a July monsoon down south last year when wearing a print dress. So, there you are.

Marie Graham

All Right, Just For Fred

Our Fred has always had a gleam in his eye for MARIE GRAHAM, readers' favourite.

So just for Fred- because of all his blarney, which he got from falling down a well in Devon-Marie put on her black nylons and had a town-and-country hairdo. A town-and-country hairdo is one that looks lovely in Bond Street or Farmer King's meadow.

Fred likes black nylons.

"So, there you are, then, like Marie's, do you?'

"Geddoudavit," said Fred, "I'm not telling you; I'm writing to her."

"Oh, passionate, are we?"

Herta Busch

Pardon Our Crises

Sometimes we hardly know how visitors can put up with us, what with our politicians and our crises.

It was a relief to see HERTA BUSCH from West Germany finding something to smile about. Was it one of our politicians or one of our crises which tickled her?

"Ha," said Herta, "politicians, no. I tell you, Charley”

"I'm Harry, actually," said the photographer. "Ja, Charley. See, I tell you, I never let politicians tickle me. I laugh more at crises than at politicians, crises more funny than any politician, you think so too, no?"

“You were meaning you never let politicians make you laugh?"

"Ja. I like a good cry when I listen to ours."

"Go on?"

"You too, Charley?" she said.

"Me too. And call me Harry, eh?"

"Sure, Charley. Any time."

Janus - ToCo Girl Selection

Janus - Volume 1 No 11 - 1972

A selection of ToCo favourites spotted in an early edition of Janus. Quite a few ToCo models were to be found in these early editions of Janus. I guess ToCo sold the pictures to them.

Lets put some names to faces. I will start things of with a nice easy one.

Dawn Grayson - Picture 6 (Bottom Row)

Marie Graham and Nicola Taylor

Togetherness

It wasn't all that psychedelic, really, just an afternoon out for two rather dishy housewives, MARIE GRAHAM and NICOLA TAYLOR. Nicola, as you'll know, is the one helping herself to a sit-down.

Still, it was a lot of fun. There wasn't really enough room for both of them to take a seat, so they just took turns.

They fell out a bit when Nicola fell off and said, "I didn't actually fall, I was pushed."

"Yes, well," said Marie, "you were taking my turn as well as your own, and my feet hurt after that long walk.'

They compromised at that and managed to share the chair after all. It was amicable togetherness then until Nicola folded Marie up in the perishing thing.

"Help," said Marie, "what shall we do now?" "Go home and get dinner ready for our marital mates," said Nicola.

Some husbands are dead lucky.
